Fortnite: What’s New In Patch v15.50? Rapid Fire SMG Returns, Zero Point Changes & More

Find out all of the changes in Fortnite patch 15.50.

Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5 is nearing its end with only two weeks remaining. Fans have witnessed an incredible amount of character crossovers, new in-game mechanics, weapons and locations this season. Epic Games is starting to roll out changes that may indicate what we can expect in Chapter 2 – Season 6. The Zero Point is changing, and although there’s no known season-ending event, it’s nearly time to move forward. Let’s see what the developers have to offer in one of the final updates of Season 5.

Hand Cannon Vaulted, Rapid Fire SMG Unvaulted

The marquee adjustment in patch 15.50 was the Hand Canon’s removal, which Epic replaced with the Rapid Fire SMG. It was first introduced in Chapter 2 – Season 2 and exited the loot pool in Chapter 2 – Season 4. The SMG variation is back, likely for a limited amount of time.

Zero Point Changes

The Zero Point became this season’s focal point, and it’s changing. Its appearance in the video above shows the pulsing effect. You can also faintly hear the Zero Point’s destabilizing sounds. No one knows what it means or what relevance it has regarding the story, but there’s no doubt that something will happen between now and Chapter 2 – Season 6.

Female Midas

The long-rumored female Midas skin will finally appear in Fortnite Battle Royale. Many believed that it would become one of the Fortnite Crew cosmetic sets, but that is not the case. Instead, Epic will include her in the Golden Touch bundle with two different variants, a pickaxe and back bling.

New Bodyguard LTM

Update 15.50 introduced a new Limited-Time Mode (LTM) named Bodyguard. The description reads, “Eliminating a team’s VIP takes out the entire team. VIPs are marked and given a pistol as their only weapon. When downed, VIPs are immune to weapon damage.”

Bug Fixes

Here is a complete list of bug fixes in update 15.50:

Battle Royale

  • Split Screen “Ready Up!” issue.
  • Snowy Floppers do not grant Shield or Icy Feet.
  • Cars not always dealing damage on impact.
  • Rift Fish and Jellyfish temporarily disabled.
  • Total Bars appearing as 0 when loading into a match with high latency.

Save the World

  • The Val Defender doesn’t have perks when unlocked from the Valor Questline.

Mobile

  • Cannot start or switch to Creative Mode.

That covers all the noteworthy changes in Fortnite’s latest update. Now is an excellent time to knock out whatever challenges you have left and enjoy the last two weeks of Chapter 2 – Season 5.
