According to the release, GGWP Academy looks to help gamers enhance monetisation and engagement in content creation. This is done through its platform available on Android and IOS. The platform teaches players an array of lessons ranging from branding to social media management, in order to help monetise a gamers’ audience.
Kylie Frazer of Eleanor Ventures commented: “There is so much about this team and this market opportunity that we love. Brand activations with gaming influencers have a key advantage over traditional influencer campaigns – the ability to access and analyse thousands of hours of streamed content on platforms like Twitch.
“GGWP’s technology takes data-driven marketing campaigns to the next level, ensuring brand ambassador authenticity like never before. Coupled with the founding teams’ extensive industry network and ability to build community, we couldn’t be prouder of our investment.”
Alongside its player education platform, the firm has also announced plans to launch a version for brands in ‘mid 2021’. The GGWP Academy Influencer Marketplace looks to target brands hoping to ‘increase ROI campaigns, reduce search time for talent and manage talent’.
Founder and CEO Jax Garrett added: “We’re excited to provide a data-driven ecosystem where brands can confidently engage content creators from around the world and finally see real ROI from their campaigns”.
The pre-seed announcement follows on from GGWP Academy entering into Startmate, an Australian Accelerator Program, last week. Including the accelerator funding, the firm’s investment round totals $425,000 AUD (~£238,382).

Despite only launching in 2020, the firm has already managed to secure a partnership with Logitech and is an alumni of the leAD Sport Accelerator programme in Berlin.
Esports Insider says: Optimising revenue in content is a huge part of the esports industry and so it’s good to see GGWP Academy be provided with additional funding to further develop its platform. It’ll be interesting to see how the platform can develop in the near future and how GGWP Academy fares with its brand-specific variant.
