23 Feb CoD: Mutineers Rebound; FaZe Stay Undefeated — CDL Super Week Day 1 Recap
Seven straight days of CDL action kicked off with two excellent matches.
Last night the Call of Duty League Super Week kicked off with two great matches. Here’s a recap of both games, including some important stats.
Florida Mutineers 3-1 Los Angeles Guerrillas
The Los Angeles Guerrillas started the weekend with an upset in map one, defeating Florida in a 250-133 Crossroads Hardpoint. SiLLY and Assault had a 1.35 and 1.33 K/D respectively, while Vivid dropped 33 massive kills to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
The Mutineers replied with a dominant 6-3 Miami SnD victory. Owakening seems to run the place, with another great performance going 11/5 to tie the series 1-1. Control continued to provide Defensive wins as five in a row saw Florida take the map 3-2. Owakening dominated once again going 31-25, giving Florida a 2-1 lead in the series.
Florida Mutineers took the series 3-1 with a 250-172 map four win. Neptune topped the scoreboard here going 29/21 and showing his ability on Garrison Hardpoint once again. This puts Florida 1-1 in Stage 1, essential to their chances of starting in the Winners Bracket at the Major.
Atlanta FaZe vs Toronto Ultra
An incredible end to map one saw Atlanta FaZe win 250-247. FaZe coordinated a 4-way pinch on Raid P5, seeing them get in at the perfect time to close out the map. 27/22 from Simp saw him excel for FaZe, but it was an overall great team performance that put them 1-0 up.
Toronto replied with a 6-3 Search and Destroy win, where Bance showed him dominance going 11-5. An unfortunate teamkill from Cellium in round 9 saw the 2v1 reduced to a 1v1 where he eventually lost. However, this was an excellent display from Toronto. FaZe destroyed all Toronto momentum with a quick and easy 3-0 Control victory. Simp dominated, going 22/9 in an unbelievable performance from him to put FaZe 2-1 up.
Atlanta FaZe closed out a 3-1 victory with a dominant 250-128 Garrison Hardpoint win. The Tiny Terrors were firing on all cylinders with Simp 21/17 and aBeZy 22/14. This puts FaZe 3-0 in Stage 1, and Toronto 1-1.
The CDL continues tonight with three more matches, starting at 3PM ET.
