10 Feb Fortnite: European Trios To Watch For Ahead Of FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 5
ESTNN breaks down interesting European trios and storylines heading into FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 5.
European Fortnite has set the bar for players across the world. It’s a foregone conclusion that the region boasts many of the game’s most talented competitors, including Benjyfishy, MrSavage, Mongraal and Mitr0. All four of these players and thousands more are gearing up for the seventh seasonal Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS), where teams of three will compete for $1.35M USD in cash prizes. Epic Games remains committed to competitive Fortnite, and the stakes are higher than ever.
The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to tournament play, making it hard to call a winner. Battle Royale games like Fortnite generally carry much more randomness than most other competitive titles, but the cream typically rises to the top regardless. Today, ESTNN is taking you into the depths of European Fortnite to highlight some teams that will be in the mix throughout the next month of FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 5. Let’s take a look at storylines and profile the squads looking to etch themselves in Fortnite history.

The European young guns – Noahreyli, Vadeal and Rezon – have all the makings of a dominant force heading into FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 5. All three players broke out in 2020 and established themselves as elite talents. Noahreyli and Rezon were on the fast track toward a top placement in FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 4 until their teammate aqua received a temporary ban from Fortnite. As a result, Epic essentially disqualified the entire team from the competition. Now, Noah and Rezon have a chance to bounce back with a rising talent on their team.
If you live under a rock, you may have missed Vadeal’s breakout in 2020. Like Noah and Rezon, Vadeal went from a relatively unknown player to arguably a top-five in Europe. He and Noahreyli have already won a DreamHack Duos tournament and finished second in another. As a trio, Vadeal, Noahreyli and Rezon claimed two Cash Cup victories leading into the FNCS. They’ll look to dominate Sweaty Sands and ride fishing spot loot into the winner’s circle.

Mongraal, Mitr0 & Benjyfishy
5th havnt played with each other for a year, might have found the god trio @Mongraal @mitr0 mmb is back pic.twitter.com/AzmitTolMV

The return of Mongraal, Mitr0 and benjyfishy, dubbed MMB, came about after a few trios broke down. Mongraal and Mitr0 took a hiatus from Fortnite after winning FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 4. The two then split with their championship-winning teammate TaySon. A few months later, benjyfishy and his duo partner MrSavage decided they weren’t meshing well in trios. The stars then aligned for a reunion that the entire competitive Fortnite fandom wanted to see.
Mongraal, Mitr0 and benjyfishy announced their return as a team on January 24. The legendary trio competed in a Cash Cup, where they took fifth place. It was their first tournament together since 2019 in Season X. MMB will have to find success in a time when other formidable players are rising through the ranks. They may have some trouble if Salty Towers remains their drop spot of choice. Nevertheless, having MMB back for another run is an exciting prospect in competitive Fortnite.

There aren’t very many dark horses in the European region, given the depth of talent. However, one trio that could turn some heads combines Fortnite World Cup Duo Champion aqua with controller players crr and Wolfiez. After missing out on last season’s FNCS Final, aqua is out for redemption. Crr and Wolfiez join the Austrian fresh off their sixth place FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 4 result alongside former teammate k1nzell.
This trio has all the makings of a top contender this season. Many recognize aqua as one of the best player callers and in-game leaders (IGL) in Fortnite. Throw two phenomenal controller players into the mix, and you could have the FNCS Champions front and center. It’ll be interesting to see if aqua, Wolfiez and Crr stick to Salty Towers as their designated drop spot. It could be a throwdown between these three and MMB and our next team all season long.
MrSavage, IDrop & TaySon

No one could have predicted that MrSavage and Benjyfishy splitting would leave both in a better position. MrSavage quickly turned to his former duo partner IDrop and two-time FNCS Champion TaySon. Although Savage and TaySon are natural in-game leaders, having two on one team could pay dividends in Season 5, considering the limited mobility options. Having two great minds to call height retakes and late eliminations will be essential. IDrop assumes the support role, which should bode well for him as he takes direction from two of Fortnite’s best.
All three players seem committed to sticking it out through the Fortnite Champion Series. However, landing Salty Springs could prove to be a roadblock. Mongraal, mitr0 and benjyfishy are already landing there, as are aqua, Wolfiez and crr; that likely won’t change. If egos boil over, it might be a long season for all three teams. But there’s no denying the talent that MrSavage, TaySon and IDrop possess.

Th0masHD, Flikk & Anas
1ST BEST TRIO ($2300) @anasfnbr @flikk ??? pic.twitter.com/dsJJzvvnEq
— Gamma Th0masHD (@Th0masHD) January 25, 2021
Finally, we have a trio has been arguably the most consistent since way back in Chapter 2 – Season 3. Th0masHD, Flikk and Anas have the ‘IT’ factor that most rival teams could only hope to achieve. They’ve been winning for three straight seasons and made a case for the title of 2020’s best trio across all seven competitive Fortnite regions. Some of their best results include three Cash Cup wins and a third-place finish in FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 4. Th0masHD, Flikk and Anas are aiming for a championship in their third straight season together.
All signs point to Dirty Docks for these through all of the Fortnite Champion Series. As we already know, coastal points of interest include ample fishing opportunities, which could give them the edge over other top trios. Let’s not forget that Dirty Docks also provides weapon upgrade opportunities. It’s undoubtedly not bold to predict Th0masHD, Flikk and Anas to do well, but this may be their season to wield the Axe of Champions.
