Flamengo Esports agrees Free Fire partnership with TRT Gaming

Flamengo Esports agrees Free Fire partnership with TRT Gaming

Simplicity Esports-operated Brazilian organisation Flamengo Esports has announced it will remain in Free Fire’s professional ecosystem after signing TRT Gaming as its new partner.

Flamengo Esports’ deal with TRT Gaming is expected to last until 2023, which is the same year that Simplicity Esports’ license with Brazilian football club Flamengo expires. Unlike the organisation’s previous partnership with B4, the Free Fire team will compete under the name Flamengo Esports, as apposed to Flamengo B4.

The Brazilian team announced that it had parted ways with B4 in December 2020, with Flamengo Esports’ Director Fred Tannure calling the partnership a “learning experience for us to enter other modalities.”

The agreement between B4 and Flamengo Esports was seen as a success due to Free Fire’s growing popularity in Brazil. As such, it wasn’t unexpected to see the Brazilian organisation find a new partner ahead of the 2021 Liga Brasileira de Free Fire (LBFF), the title’s premier esports competition in the region.

Other popular esports teams that are competing in the LBFF include Team Liquid and FURIA, whilst B4 will also compete as a separate entity. Brazilian football clubs Santos, Corinthians and Cruzeiro are also featured in the competition.

Financial details of the partnership have not been disclosed, however, TRT Gaming will cover all of the Free Fire team’s costs, which is in contrast to its previous partnership with B4. This follows a similar structure to Simplicity Esports’ agreement with Flamengo.

Flamengo Esports’ new partnership was negotiated with the help of Red Button, a talent agency that primarily focuses on Esports Influencers and optimising Youtube channels.

Esports Insider says: Simplicity’s new partnership ensures that Flamengo Esports’ presence in Free Fire is maintained for at least the foreseeable future. With the organisation also being announced as a franchised team in the revamped CBLOL, League of Legends’ top Brazilian league, things are certainly looking good for Flamengo Esports.
