06 Jan CoD: Warzone’s Best Weapons Hit Hard In Recent Update
The DMR 14 has run the streets of Verdansk for the past few weeks, but tonight’s update looks to change that.
Since Black Ops Cold War integrated its weapons into Warzone, the tactical rifles have excelled. This has led to many fans leaving the game and voicing their frustrations online. Some even went as far as to ask the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, to nerf the DMR himself.
However, tonight’s update sees the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac-10 and Diamatti receive a nerf.
- DMR 14 – Reduced headshot damage, increased recoil
- Type 63 – Reduced headshot damage, increased recoil
- Mac-10 – Decreased headshot multiplier
- Dual pistols – Increased hip-fire spread, decreased damage range
The New Meta
This nerf leaves many questions to be asked. First of all, has the nerf knocked the DMR off the top spot? Speros tweeted a video showing the DMR post-patch, and the recoil seemingly hasn’t changed.

However, if the DMR is no longer the weapon of choice for many, we could see multiple other Cold War weapons come forward. As for your long-range weapon, Modern Warfare’s Kar98k will probably be your best bet. For mid-short range, the FFAR1 could be an interesting hybrid, while other Cold War SMGs such as the Bullfrog may find their way into the meta.
This update brings joy to the Warzone community. With the unbalanced weapons and some newfound glitches, this hasn’t been the best week for Warzone. However, fans are hoping this new update is a step in the right direction for the game.
